addition, we place great value in our partnerships and accreditations in
responsible mining.
Tshipi’s Commitment
Tshipi’s commitment to environmental stewardship is underpinned by a
rigorous emissions management strategy. The strategy features a robust
dust monitoring program, which aligns with the Environmental Impact
Assessment and South African National Ambient Air Quality Standards .
Recognising the importance of managing the environmental and health
aspects of manganese dust from mining activities, Tshipi is dedicated to
effective dust management, regular environmental monitoring and
proactive measures to protect the natural surroundings, and the health
of those living and working near the mining operations.
Land Management and Restoration
Tshipi’s land management and restoration efforts are driven by a
commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible mining
practices. The development of a bioremediation facility highlights this
commitment, focusing on treating polluted soil on-site to reduce
reliance on offsite landfill solutions.
Tshipi’s long-term vision includes developing a sustainable land use

ensuring a positive legacy for future generations. Tshipi’s
comprehensive rehabilitation and restoration practices aim to return
mined land to its natural state or repurpose it for sustainable
